It’s déjà vu all over again, and this time it’s Google and Yahoo.
Recently Yahoo, a huge name in email, released a new email page after years of zero (0) changes. The new page looks nice and there are some cool tools, but some of them are a pain to use (which is another story).
Gmail, on the other hand, is created by Google and yet, in terms of email, it’s the New Kid on the Block. They released an over-all better service than Yahoo! Mail and took away some of their market share. But here’s the thing, there’s no reason this should have happened-ever.
Too many times we see a large company sitting around being fat, happy and content. Then, seamlessly out of nowhere, a new guy comes along and creates something truly amazing. It’s Yahoo’s fault they didn’t embrace change and kept on evolving. If they did that, like soooo many other companies should do, they would probably be in a better position.
Embrace change, and especially with websites, never stop evolving!
