Meteorologists make us feel stupid.
Here they are on this pedestal, they have a four year degree, and they're on TV (even though those people aren't really meteorologists, they speak for them, we tell ourselves that they are, simply because we need someone to blame).
Meteorologists are wrong sometimes, but it's those sometimes that we notice. and we remind ourselves constantly. In our quiet curses when we get 2 feet of snow instead of six inches or when it rains on our parade. We even make movies about how much the meteorologists are hated.
The thing that makes us feel stupid is the fact that we can't do anything, we feel that we are essentially powerless. We are stuck because traditional sense tells us that job is reserved for the professionals.
somebody should probably do something about that...
